Car Seat Handle

I'm an hour into a 90 minute wait to ride the Titan at Six Flags (with the niece & nephew - late bday gift for him). So I thought now would be a good time to post another {non-controversial} car seat question. Tell me about the carrier handle. Most car seats I've seen (in stores) have just a normal arched across handle. However, I've seen some that have like the triangle thing at the top (I'm sure there's a technical name for it). Which kind is better, and why? Thanks again for sharing your words of wisdom!

  1. The new angular handles make it easier to carry the carseat.

  2. My girls' was straight and my BF's boys' was triangular. I HATED HERS. It was so much harder to carry when they got bigger!! My girls stayed in the carrier until they were around one, and I could put it up by my elbow to carry it, because they get heavy!
I'm sure it's just what you get used to, though!

  3. the one we bought was straight, and it doesn't seem like a big deal. I know what you are saying, cause we looked at the triangle ones too. I'm sure it's just a preference. guess we won't know until there's someone in it! :)

  4. I prefer the ergonomical (triangular) handle. I tried them both out at the store and asked around and decided that would be best. It's worked out great for us so far, but he's only 10 pounds now.

  5. Two words: FAST PASS

The best invention and purchase an amusement park goer can every invest in!

P.S. How do you post from your Blackberry? I have a BB to and I'd love to post from it! Details girl, details!

  6. I think they are both about the same. In reality, once your baby is about... hmm.. lets say 6 months old and you have carried the thing into church and then stand around and talk to people for a while, you will be glad that everyone wants to hold you baby and the carrier is heavy. I don't care what type you get, the thing is heavy and there is no comfortable way to carry it. They need to make one with a shoulder strap. Saying that, they are still very helpful from the stroller point of view.

  7. I had to go to the BRU website because I had no idea there was a difference!

    This is mine: http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3155366

I like it, it serves my purposes well. I'm not strong enough to carry it by the handle, I hang it from my forearm, if that makes sense.

My yuppie friends have this one: http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3384776

I personally can't tell the difference!

  8. I have the ergonomic one...with the triangle/zig-zag handle. Love it! Of course, my little chunk outgrew that carseat really quickly.

  9. We just had the regular handles. The thing is no matter what kind of handles- car seats aren't that much fun to carry. They are bulky and you tilt to the side. Just get whatever you like because most of the time you won't be carrying the thing. It will either be in the car or on a stroller.

  10. I've had both...they both stink...take a stroller, or at least the easy small base. Don't carry it anywhere you don't have to b/c it's awful! I don't think it really matter...go for the CUTE patterns instead. Sorry, I'm no help!

  11. I agree with those who said it makes no difference. We tried both handles - neither alleviate the heft of the seat with a baby in it. Or the awkwardness. I hoist that puppy into the stroller or shopping cart ASAP because I can't carry it.

  12. Oh I went to six flags in Mass with my nephew and it took forever to get on his favorite rides. He was a trooper though.
