DIY: Pottery Barn Knock-Off {Noel Sign}

When I saw this sign in the Pottery Barn Christmas collection, I immediately thought it would be easy to make. And considering the fact that it is $149, I knew I'd never buy it. So I headed to Hobby Lobby and picked up a few things, and nearly an hour later, and $145 cheaper, I had my own version! Here's what you need:

-letters to spell NOEL (I got wooden ones at Hobby Lobby for $1 each, normally $1.99)
-spray paint (I used oil rubbed bronze to give it a nice sheen)
-hot glue gun (or strong adhesive of your choice)

1. Spray paint your letters and allow to dry. I had the quick dry spray paint so fortunately I didn't have to wait long...as we all know, patience is not one of my strong points. :)
2. Position your letters as the picture shows, then use your hot glue gun to piece the letters together. I just put a dab between the joints. It will be a little flimsy, but we'll fix that in the next step.
3. Glue small strips of cardboard or wood to the back for reinforcement. It will really make it much sturdier! (I used cardboard and it worked great.)
That's it! Isn't it SO simple? Seriously, anybody could do this. It's so easy and cheap! I love the end result. Granted, the Pottery Barn version is metal and a little bigger than this, but for $145 less, I think I can handle that. :)
