My goal at this point is to have her closet and dresser set up by the time she's born. Anything above and beyond that will be a bonus, but I'm really okay with not having her room ready. I'm still planning and buying things; just not in any particular rush to get it all put together. So that's that!
I got this crib
I also bought this dresser at a local flea market for a steal! We will use it as a changing table. This is a picture of a picture of it so it's hard to tell, but it's actually an antique white color with a brown wax finish. I love it and think it will fit perfectly in her room.
--I have seen these amazing monogram signs all over Pinterest, but they can be quite pricey, some as high as $300 & up! Luckily my friend Amy saw one I had pinned and told me about a friend of hers who sells them for a really good price. I ended up ordering the 18 inch monogram, and it was $48, which was a great deal compared to so many others I've seen. She was wonderful to work with and super fast too. Here is the link to her Etsy shop if you're interested: Picket Fence Creations I think this will probably go over the crib, and I may or may not add a frame around it...we'll see. :)
I am actually enjoying putting everything together because I'm not stressed about it, and am just doing what I can when I can. Let's hope this feeling lasts. :)
I still need to upload all the pictures from my shower this weekend - it was a great time and I can't wait to share all about it!

LOVE!!! I think it's awesome that you made your own fabric.. such a cool idea and so personal for that sweet little bambina! There will be plenty of time to finish it all- I think you're smart to take it easy. But I still can't wait to see it all! It's going to be beautiful!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see it all come together. And I love that monogram! I bet your shower was fabulous!
ReplyDeleteOMG. I love the idea that you printed your own fabric! Wish you lived closer, I'd hire you to redecorate my house! (Manny and Maeva can come and play too!) I love your taste!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the fabrics. Can't wait to see it all put together. Hot pink crib? It all sounds great! Take it easy mama :), but I can't wait to see the whole room revealed.

ReplyDeleteI love that combo!!! I can't wait to see the finished nursery!
ReplyDeleteLove all the details so far! I know it's going to look beautiful for your precious girl!
ReplyDeleteLove what you have so far - the details seem perfect and the colors are to die for! I think it's probably great that you're taking your sweet time on getting it all put together so it will be absolutely perfect for your little princess instead of rushing to have it finished before her arrival :) I can't wait to see the final product :)
ReplyDeleteIt's going to look amazing! Great choices on the color combos and I LOVE that monogram! Isn't it funny with Baby #2 how much more laid back you (we) are? I realized the babe isn't even going to be SLEEPING in his or her nursery for the first few months anyways, so why get all stressed about it? Hope you are able to keep taking it easy and taking good care of yourself. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteYou know about the coolest things! Printing your own fabric? Amazing! And, I LOVE that you are having her crib painted pink! I went back and forth on painting Gentry's, but ultimately decided to just leave it silver. Can't wait to see this room all finished. I know it will be amazing!
ReplyDeleteSarah-I am so glad I found your blog! Thank you for mentioning my monogram in your post!! Everything looks precious :) Congrats!
ReplyDeleteYou are super mom! Seriously - Manny & Maeva are two lucky kiddos! LOVE that fabric you designed and can't wait to see the room put together.
ReplyDeleteI love the chevron! And I want a Jenny Lind crib!! I have been drooling over them for months and am cruising Craigslist for a good deal. Hopefully I'll find one. If I do, I'm painting it red.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! I had no idea you could create your own fabric... I may be very dangerous with this new found knowledge! (Can't find curtains that I like... Problem solved!) I LOVE the color choices and the pattern! Absolutely perfect for little miss Maeva!
