All I Wanted Were Some Pictures

All I wanted were some pictures of Manny and Maeva in their matching SheShe Made shirts. Is that too much to ask? Turns out yes. YES IT IS.
It actually started out okay as Manny had Patrick's phone and was playing a game on it. He would stop every once in awhile to growl, kiss, or scream at Maeva, but other than that? He was happy.
But you know me. I can't leave well enough alone. Because while he was holding the phone, it was blocking the shirt. So what's a girl to do? Take the phone away, of course. Godzilla was less than thrilled with that idea.
You would've thought I was torturing him with the fit that went down. The shrill screaming, the kicking, flailing, convulsing...I'm still waiting for Child Protective Services to show up at my door as I know surely the neighbors thought I'd kidnapped somebody.
He was genuinely devastated, and Maeva was genuinely concerned. Also? He was genuinely dirty. Notice those knees? That would be from him running down the yard, and throwing his body face first on the ground in the Most Dramatic Rose Ceremony Toddler Fit ever
But there's no shame in my game. I started doing a little jig (IN MY FRONT YARD) and it distracted him to the point that he calmed down enough to give me a smile/grimmace.
And because I'm a glutton for punishment he was in such a great mood then, I thought we'd try putting them side by side on the blanket. Of course he wasn't having that. But you know who was?
This sweet girl. :) Better enjoy it while I can because she'll be running from me before I know it.

Confession: I love these pictures more than any perfectly posed pictures I ever could have imagined.

  5. They are so adorable! Manny is looking like a little boy & not a baby anymore. I know that makes you a little sad.

  6. Haha! Based on the little look on her sweet face in these pictures, if Maeva could talk, she would definitely be saying, "Dude, chill out!" That last one of her is so sweet. I just want to squeeze her little cheeks right through the computer screen:)

  12. VERY cute shirts! And I totally feel your pain on trying to get 2 kids both looking and smiling at the camera. I've pretty much given up the cause until their adults :)

  14. I love the look on Maeva's face during the temper tantrum. Remember when we thought babies were hard? The toddlers years have got nothing on baby years.

  15. Hilarious! And SO like me!! I mean, sure he was happy and smiling when he had the phone....but it was **blocking** the shirt! We ALREADY know he has an adorable face, so know we need the SHIRTS to go with the cute face!! Honestly, who wouldn't understand this? Makes perfect sense to me!!

They are adorable as usual! And what a fun story too! I actually got some cute pictures of Alex & Bennett because I just started saying "poopy" all the time, which, of course, is hilarious.
