Just Another Day at the Zoo

Happy Halloween from our little zoo! When I saw this peacock costume I KNEW it was a must for MB. Manny is particular about what he'll wear, so I thought simple would be best - so the idea of a zookeeper was born. I took some pictures of the kids in their costumes so I could send out cards to our family. And I'm SO glad I did because both of them are sick so I'm not sure we'll actually get to dress up tonight. :(
We hope everyone has a safe and wonderful Halloween! :)

Project 366: Week 42

A Day Out with Thomas

A couple of weeks ago we heard that THOMAS was coming to town! Yes, you heard right - THE Thomas the Train. Or actually, as it turns out, they call him Thomas the Tank Engine. Who knew? (Probably most people, but it was news to me.) Needless to say, we knew this was a must considering Manny's current obsession with him. He still loves Curious George, and in a perfect world Curious George would ride around on Thomas. That might be too much excitement for his little toddler heart to handle though.
We didn't make it there until they were about to close. Patrick was on call and when we were about to leave earlier in the day, he got called back to the hospital again. We almost didn't go, but decided to make a quick trip anyway - plus Ashley had made him a shirt just for the occasion and Manny was super excited. So by the time we made it there, it was 4:27 and the last train was at 4:30. Originally we weren't sure if we were going to ride the train, but decided to because A)it was FREEZING and we didn't feel like doing any of the outdoor activities, and the sight of Maeva shivering made me feel guilty and B)this is the last year Manny will get to ride the train for free. The overpriced train ride was nothing special - just a regular train ride (at a snail's pace) but Manny was in awe the whole time.
After the train ride, we took pictures with Thomas and then hightailed it to the car. It had been in the 80's all week and was like 35 that day. I hadn't even bought Manny's winter coat yet (not that he'd wear it anyway - he hates wearing coats). But the look of SHEER JOY on his face when he rounded that corner and came face to face with Thomas? Made it all completely worth it. He still talks about it often, and loves to look at the pictures from it. Maeva's frost bite has since faded, but Manny's memories will last forever.

Turner Silent Auction Results

We wanted to take the time to thank each and every one of you for the role you played in making the Silent Auction for the Turners a success. Your participation, either through a donation, bidding, or even just spreading the word, has helped us raise over $12,000 for the Turner family. This auction would not have been a success without your contribution.

A few important items to note:

--If you won an item, payment must be received by October 31, 2012. If we do not receive payment by then, the item will go to the 2nd highest bidder. If circumstances have changed and you can no longer honor your bid, please contact us to let us know.
--If you're a donor and have not received an email from us, it is likely because your winner has not paid yet. As soon as the winner pays, we will put you guys in contact via an email from us.
--Should any questions or issues arise that we haven't addressed here, please email us at turnerblogauction@gmail.com.

Several people have asked if they can make a monetary donation directly to Julee. Here is the information if you would like to do so:

Pumpkin Patch 2012

As I mentioned the other day, I still have things to blog about that I will eventually get to. But we went to the pumpkin patch this weekend, and I wanted to blog it while it was fresh on my mind and before it falls into the abyss of things I need to blog about. This post is going to be major picture overload, but I want all of these in my blog book so I have to include them. :)
I loved the kids in their matching SheShe Made...though MB's thighs made it a little tough to keep the dress pulled down. :)
I tried to get a picture with Manny but he had no interest in being with me...all he wanted was his Gabi! We were walking in and they were checking out all the leaves.

It's always awesome having Gabi along on things like this because not only is it fun to have her around, but it's also kind of like having a nanny as she's all about taking care of the kids. Love you Gabbers!!
Oh Manny. This face says it all. And that hair. Looks like a hair piece gone wrong. Guess it's time for another hair cut. Hold me. Any volunteers?
We met Megan and her family there. Manny and Eli were running around like crazy per usual. They are so funny together!
Both of the boys were less than thrilled that we made them stop to take a picture. Eli looks like he's cheesing here but he's actually mid pterodactyl scream. These boys are so much fun!

Manny is still obsessed with horses so I was curious to see if he'd want to ride the horses. He loved watching them, but was unsure if he wanted to actually ride.
His sweet face here melts me. He looks so grown up lately but I see the baby in him here and I love it. Is that wrong?
But of course, he got excited after a few minutes and totally enjoyed the ride.
MB was pretty chill the whole time too. She loves being outside.

The tire swing was quite the hit. Manny wanted to stay on it forever!
I think he looks like such a big kid swinging. It was making me a tad nervous.
But Patrick was having too much fun also so I decided it would be fine. They were so cute.
Manny finally got off the tire swing, but as soon as another kid wanted to get on he charged over there yelling, "Mine!!" So that was awesome. It was a fun place but I'm sad they didn't have kettle corn. Because at the end of the day, food is what it's all about...right? :)

Silent Auction Follow Up

The auction is over. Now what?

We are in the process of collecting email addresses of the donors, winners, and the winning bids for each item. Its an extensive process but we're working on it.
DONORS - Please email us at turnerblogauction@gmail.com with the item # and title in the subject line, the winner's email address, and their winning bid. This will allow us to verify information before sending out invoices. PLEASE DO NOT INVOICE THE WINNERS YOURSELF.

WINNERS - We will be sending out Paypal invoices by Monday night. When the invoice has been paid, we will let the donor know. The two of you can then arrange shipping and/or redemption of the prize.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email any of us and we'll respond as soon as we can. Again, thank you to all (donors and bidders) for making this a success. Our hope is that it'll be a blessing for Julee and Preslee Turner.

Project 366: Week 40

October 17, 2012

{Mostly} Wordless Wednesday: Sibling...Love?

One of these days I will blog all the things I've been needing to...like the rest of our beach trip from 2 months ago. Until then, I will post some pictures of my kids looking pretty stinking cute and just a little bit feisty in their SheShe Made shirts. I should note that this photo shoot lasted a grand total of 3 minutes - tops. I think the pictures speak for themselves. But suffice it to say - we laughed, we cried, we sweated, we ran, we sweated, we bit, we hit, we sweated. And mama aged 10 years in this 3 minute session. But by gosh...the memories? Captured. Worth it. See also: it was confirmed I did NOT miss my calling as a children's photographer. For those of you that are? Go and be blessed.
