Monday Randoms

--Things are still busy here! We are in Oklahoma City now but headed back home today. We've had a very productive weekend with some fun mixed in, but we're ready to get home as we both have tons of work waiting on us. This is Patrick's last full week of work...I can't believe it's already here! Last week he had to go get some head shots done for marketing stuff at his new job. My mom was at our house and took this picture of us before we left. I can't look at this picture without smiling...I love my family to pieces and am so blessed!

--I've talked about my awesome sister Jenny before...the teacher who inspired me to be a teacher myself. I've mentioned many of the awesome things she's been selected for: 2010 Oklahoma Teacher of the Year Finalist, Phil Mickelson ExxonMobil Teacher's Academy, Honeywell Educator's Space Academy, and then taking a group of students to Space Camp this summer...the list goes on and on! Well you won't believe her latest accomplishment...she has been selected to be a part of the Teacher at Sea program through the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). What does that mean? She is going to be going on an adventure where she'll be tagging sharks! She will be the only teacher on board amongst scientists, engineers, and all the other important people who make this stuff happen....but I know you'll still run the show Jen! :) The cool thing is you can follow her blog here where she'll be posting a couple times a week while they're at sea. If you read, I would ask that you please take the time to leave her some comment love! Not only will it be encouraging to her, but it will also show NOAA that we appreciate their investment in teachers. Thanks friends! :)

--Have you guys seen the new Sharpie pens? I think they've been out for awhile but apparently I've been under a rock because I just heard about them....and they are fabulous!! I love writing with Sharpies but hate the bleed through...which these don't have! Is it sad that I am giddy at the thought of getting my Erin Condren Life Planner and writing in it with my Sharpies?! Don't answer that.

Happy Monday! :)

  7. Congrats to your sister!!!

I saw these at Target awhile back and was very tempted to buy them. But then I saw the pencils they make. I bought those and am highly disappointed in them. So don't buy them! But I may go back to get the pen!
